Julie Sweet 2nd anniversary of Accenture’s (Fortune 500) New Woman CEO

DUBLIN, Ireland – Accenture has named Julie Sweet as its next CEO, adding to the few woman who run major companies.

The consulting company said Thursday that Sweet, 51, will take the top job in September. She’s currently the head of Accenture’s North America business, which accounts for almost 50% of the company’s global revenues.

Sweet’s appointment made the 51-year-old executive one of the 27 women who lead companies in the S&P 500 (approximately 5% women CEOs).

As the head of Accenture, Sweet is leading a company of 482,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries. The Dublin-based firm had revenues of $41.6 billion in 2018.
