Apple plans to pump up the volume on its higher-end AirPods, new HomePod and studio-quality over-ear headphones
The Cupertino, California-based company plans to release higher-end AirPods in 2019; they will be water-resistant and offer noise cancellation. Existing earbuds are $159 pair. The company also is expected to release a new HomePod and over-the-ear headphones.
Apple’s Other Products unit generate sales of $12.9 billion in the 2017 fiscal year. That’s cushioned a slowdown in iPhone unit growth.
