COSTCO Nationwide just installed steel and tempered glass shields for the employees permanently. If you see the photo it was taken in April of 2020 at the start of the pandemic and Costco and Target were leading the charge literally with to be among the first to install shields in stores to stay open.
Costco said that the tempered glass would protect employees in the future from anything from the common cold, flu or CV 19.
One may say except for the line of people directly behind the cashier where there is no shield and they are only a few feet away. Its better than nothing, but lets be practical. COSTCO at least is being proactive and concerned about their employees.
