Volkswagen Beetle End of the Road
FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen has halted production of the last version of its 2020 Beetle model at its plant in Puebla, Mexico.
The Beetle’s original design was by Austrian engineer Ferdinand Porsche, who was hired to fulfill Adolf Hitler’s project for a “people’s car” that would spread to the U.S.: Nazis to the 1960’s counterculture hippies.
The Beetle spanned eighty two years since 1938 and will be truly missed.
