Apple iPhone Celebrates it's 10th Anniversary

The Apple iPhone will turn 10 years old today, and in that time it has revolutionized the telecommunications industry, the way we bank, navigate, shop, and send messages, and introduced the world to apps.

Apple released its first iPhone on June 29, 2007, introduced by creator Steve Jobs who called it “a revolutionary and magical product that is literally five years ahead of any other mobile phone”.

“We are all born with the ultimate pointing device — our fingers — and iPhone uses them to create the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse,” he said.

At the time, Nokia dominated the mobile phone market, according to Gartner, with more sales than its three nearest competitors combined — Motorola, Samsung, and Sony.
