Did you know that on this day in 1957 John Lennon & Paul McCartney met for the 1st time as Lennon’s rock group Quarrymen performed at a church dinner? One of rocks’ legendary songwriting duos and The Beatles were created due to this meeting.
Paul had seen John around Liverpool before their July 6 meeting, when Lennon’s band, the Quarrymen skiffle group, performed a gig at St. Peter’s Church in Woolton, Liverpool.
