Bose is closing all of its retail stores in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan this year equaling 119 stores.
The repercussion will be hundreds of employees being laid off.
Approximately 130 stores located in United Arab Emirates, Greater China, Southeast Asia, South Korea and India will remain open.
Near my house in the center of Silicon Valley is a very high-end mall named Valley Fair Mall. It has such notable brands as: Louis Vuitton, Armani, Chanel, Boss, Nordstrom and more.
The Valley Fair Mall Bose retail store is nextdoor to an Apple store and Nordstrom so Bose can’t blame a lack of foot traffic. There is never a second the Apple store isn’t packed, filled with buying customers. Right next door is the Bose retail store and in 5 years I have never ever seen a single person that store.
Bose closing 119 stores is no surprise, actually what took them so long?
